Barry Neichin, DVM

Dr. Barry Neichin

Dr. Barry Neichin has been caring for pets in the San Diego area since he opened ABC Veterinary Hospital in 1989. A general practitioner and the hospital's chief of staff, Dr. Neichin originally hails from New York.

Dr. Neichin attended the University of California-Davis and received his Bachelor's Degree with highest honors in Veterinary Science in 1983. He continued at UC-Davis College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine with high honors in 1986. Dr. Neichin's professional interests include orthopedic surgery, endoscopy and dentistry.

Dr. Neichin is certified in PennHIP procedures and TPLO surgery and is also a fellow of the Veterinary Surgical Laser Society. In 2002, he was awarded the Don Low Fellowship, a four-week course in diagnostic ultrasound. He is the member of numerous professional organizations, including Phi Zeta, the national veterinary honor society; the American Veterinary Association, the California Veterinary Medical Association and the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association.

When he's not busy with his duties at the hospital, Dr. Neichin can be found outside, either on the trails hiking and camping or in the water snorkeling and skin diving, as well as spending time with his two children. His family also includes Tonka, a Golden Retriever; Cosmo, a Siamese, and Ruffles, a rabbit.
