Katie Leestma, DVM
Dr. Katie Leestma is a General Practitioner who has been a member of the ABC Veterinary Hospital medical staff since May of 2010. A native of Houston, Texas, she attended Texas A&M University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science in 2003. After graduation, she enrolled in Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Science where she earned a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007.
Her areas of professional interest include internal medicine, dermatology, and chronic management of disorders. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and routinely works with Project Wildlife, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing medical care to injured, orphaned and sick wild animals.
At home, Dr. Leestma has two Boston Terriers named Gus and Rose, a Lovebird named Lil' Brat, and four cats named Slime, Zero, Punk, and Smeagel. Her interests include reading, swimming, beach time, and water skiing.
